I'm Stacy Reed, welcome to my blog! In the folders below, you'll find galleries of my artwork. I like to dabble in a bit of everything, from digital experimentations with kaleidoscopes and fractals to to sculpting and painting with acrylics and watercolors. I also like to post things that amuse and interest me, videos about art, mathematics and science... oh yeah, and once a month I post a picture of my messy desk.

According to a recent report by researches from Princeton, some popular applications such as AIM and Photoshop cause security problems once they are installed because they make changes to the operating system that can allow attackers to bypass Windows security mechanisms.

PCWorld reports that hackers are targeting software programs because of the growing number of security flaws found in them as opposed to the operating system itself. Guess what that means... Mac users are also at risk.

Of notable interest, last November, the SANS Institute released a list of the Twenty Most Critical Internet Security Vulnerabilities.
View Article  Bush's FY 2007 Cuts Arts Education Fund
Bush sent the fiscal year 2007 budget request to Congress yesterday and it looks grim. Becky Lewis of OMB Watch summarized, "By focusing on the budget for sacrifices, as opposed to the tax cuts, the administration makes it quite clear that they are more comfortable with taking from low- and moderate-income families than they are with taking from the super-wealthy."

I'm mostly interested in the ways this will effect the Arts in Education programs. For the sixth consecutive year, the President has eliminated funding for the Department of Education's Arts in Education programs which include programs for at-risk youth, teacher professional development, and arts programs and collaborations with schools.   more »
