In an effort to be smart with money and also to be environmentally conscious (being a Unitarian Universalist is harder than being a xtian; I have to help take care of the earth rather than hoping for zombie jeebus to come back once we have despoiled it), I have been using mass transit to get back and forth to work since I moved to Cincinnati in March. The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky(TANK) website makes very nice use of Google maps and technology to simply plan trips around the greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky area. The buses are usually clean and in good repair and the drivers seem able to keep a schedule within reason.

I hate to even draw more attention to these posts because they involve events that took place years ago and therefore, I no longer find them relevant, at least not to my own life and I can assume that would apply to the majority of my current visitors as well. Secondly, they are about someone I've never met and hope to keep it that way. Lastly, the language in the articles is a bit harsh, and although I was not the one who wrote them, I can understand why the author (my husband) was so irate because I feel the same sense of outrage whenever I hear about assholes like this guy taking advantage of naive women. Over the years, these two articles have received numerous comments from all sides — several women he has lied to and betrayed, his wife, someone who's apparently spying on him, his friends, and even his son, all of whom are strangers to me. The only reason I am writing today is to clear up some misunderstandings...

You know, I am highly disturbed by the shortsightedness of my fellow citizens and have railed against short term gains for long term losses before. I spoke about Walmart and their rapacious greed, I ranted about Verizon and the rest of the ISP's wanting to break net neutrality so they can take every last cent possible from consumers, and companies like StarForce that have basically decided you do not need to have control of your own computer. Why Atari Sucks! aka DDO is DDOn't

Okay, so I let an old guildmate from Everquest talk me into playing Dungeons And Dragons Online (DDO) developed by Turbine, Inc. I may in fact do a belated game review some other time, but in brief, it is not silly cartoons like the World of Lamecraft, nor is it 5000 people running around bragging about their Mitril Chain Panties they were able to craft after acquiring the skill from 900 hours of repetitive clicking like Everquest2. But they released DDO with about 20% of the content it should have had, and now they are moving to make it more like World of Warcraft at the fastest rate they can, this is sad because even though WoW has a high percentage of the market, the half it does not have are the players who want something more than Pokeman(tm) Adult.   more »

Wal-Mart is the favorite store of the middle-class trash-crowd because they are easily mislead by its bait-and-switch business practices. For example, Wal-Mart has been known to set very low prices on a cheap import item predominately located at each section of the store then jack up the rest of the prices in the department to compensate. Being ignorant, the trash that shop there do not care about the long term impact of the employee's low wages, rotten health care and the amazing imbalance of foreign goods versus American. The great unwashed masses of the ignorant never seem to notice that all their local shops eventually close down, then Wal-Mart prices do not have to stay so low.    more »

Finding her has changed everything in my life and given me the greatest sense of completeness and wholeness I have ever experienced. Okay I will not deny being a Garfield (TM of some kind) fan and I always get a chuckle out of some of the strips, but I admit that over the years it has aged significantly, and not always for the best. A few weeks ago a observant fellow named MackJ posted his theory at the Truth and Beauty Bombs Forum that he believed that removing all Garfield thought bubbles would significantly improve the humor value, and increase the pathos of Jon. Okay I am not a big TV fan, because lets face it, most TV is trash. I could care less about CSI:Hoboken, Hospital Drama 403, or any of the truly rotten reality/competition shows. I will not waste a lot of time directly attacking any lame shows but anyone with a room temp IQ thought American Idol was interesting but lame the first season, and it completely fell apart after that. The only way Survivor is going to start to be interesting is if they truly make it the last Survivor winning, and all other rules off. Three different CSI shows is a sign of bad television not good television. The fact that Dancing with the Stars is actually shown on anything other than direct to home video proves any point I could make about bad television.   more »

Something is going on that YOU need to be aware of, and I am sure that many of the people that visit this site already know this, but just in case I think it needs to be said. Recently several ISP's have begun to make noises that they want Google to pay them to keep a decent speed internet connection to their users.
